Grovetown

  • First Place — Rob Bates won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “Step on back of melt deck stairs needs to be replaced — looks like it got hit from underneath and is now bent.” This has been addressed. 
  • Random Number One — Will Helmly won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “Door on CNC11 does not close all of the way, allowing coolant to sling out into the walkway.” This is being addressed. 
  • Random Number Two — Antione Taylor-Williams won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “Yellow metal beam is sticking out in the middle bay in the cleaning shed. Someone could trip and hurt themselves.” This is being addressed.

Thomson

First Place — Daniel Washington won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “Please extend the safety guard on the incline belt in shakeout to offer more protection.” This has been addressed.

  • First Place — John Lowe won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “We have pallets 74″ x 74″ pressed against GA power poles, creating slack in the guy wires.” This has been addressed.
  • Random Number One — Kim Williams won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “Piece of sheet metal on the wall behind C-Pot needs to be replaced. It is a hazard to employees working in this area.” This is being addressed.
  • Random Number Two — Antonio Rodericus won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “Rebuilt cutting torches are not safe.” This has been addressed.

Thomson

  • First Place — Willie Bradshaw won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “Spill containment was placed under catalyst chemical. Cannot reach the valve without stepping off the ladder.” This has been addressed.

Service Center

  • First Place — Thomas Lowe won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “Scrap bin is overfilled by other departments, not by the Service Center. Employees are having to get into the bin to take pieces out so the truck will take the bin.” This has been addressed.

  • First Place — Dustin Davis won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “Railroad ties on the west end of the engineering building are very slick. Employee almost fell the other morning.” This has been addressed.
  • Random Number One — Leland Bazemore won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “There is a piece of aluminum rod sticking out of the table that’s really sharp — if someone is walking around the table it could stick into their leg.” This has been addressed.
  • Random Number Two — Richard Harris won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “Rain is leaking on CNC08 electrical cabinet behind the machine.” This is being addressed.

  • First Place — Roberto Rodriquez won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “The big impellers are too tall for Fox grinder settings — employees must stand on a wood pallet to reach and work the part.” This has been addressed.
  • Random Number One — Dillon McTier won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “The low-carbon chrome pan was filled halfway up with water and it is still difficult to dump into our pan.” This has been addressed.

  • First Place — Justin Fogart won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “Pit in main bay of med foundry has a section of handrail removed and is not taped off. Someone could fall into the pit.” This has been addressed.
  • Random Number One — Kelly Wiggins won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “Bushes at the main entrance need to be trimmed back. You have to pull out very far to make a left turn.” This has been addressed.
  • Random Number Two — Danny Bradshaw won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “Railing around D & E pot in LCCI on the melt deck is broken; if you lean too hard there is a potential of a fall.” This has been addressed.

Thomson

  • First Place — Jack Smallwood won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “Spector argon tank is located under the melt deck. To replace empty tank, employees have to roll a full tank of argon across water lines. This could cause a tank to fall.” This has been addressed.
  • Random Number One — Austin Whittle won a $25 gift card for the safety concern, “We need 63 rounds with longer and wider trunnions. Chains will not stay on them while turning out. Also, we need smaller chains to turn 63 rounds. A bigger chain doesn’t fit well on the smaller trunnion.” This has been addressed.

GA Service Center

  • First Place — Thomas Lowe won a $50 gift card for the safety concern, “External A/C pipe is dripping water onto the floor in the walkway. A buildup of algae is resulting in a slipping hazard.” This is being addressed.
