Marcel Bodevin: Purchasing Manager and Supply Chain Superstar

Marcel Bodevin joined GIW as the new Purchasing Manager on January 4. He leads an eight-person purchasing team and is responsible for managing suppliers, leading negotiations, and optimizing our supplier base with kaizen events, cost-out projects, and market testing. Marcel’s work consistently reduces costs and improves on-time parts delivery, and he saves GIW $1M annually.

At his previous employer, Eaton Corporation, Marcel served in several procurement roles. Most recently, he was the Purchasing Manager at the Cooper Power Systems facility in Greenwood, South Carolina. Prior to that, Marcel was the Supply Chain Project Manager at the Eaton Aerospace plant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also served as a Category Manager for fasteners at Eaton’s headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio.

Prior to Eaton, Marcel attended the Wisconsin School of Business in Madison, WI where he received his MBA in Supply Chain Management. He also did extensive coursework in data analytics. Before business school, Marcel served as a logistics officer in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Tacoma, Washington; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Petersburg, Virginia. He also did two tours in Afghanistan and one in Kuwait. Marcel was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in San Antonio, Texas.
